Air Force RFID Initial
Implementations Mark Reboulet, USAF In
concert with the work that Wal-Mart is
leading in the commercial market, the DoD
has mandated the use of passive RFID
technology. This project encompasses
Automatic Identification Technology (AIT)
passive RFID insertion into the current
in-transit business processes to track
shipments of items at the case/pallet level.
The project will demonstrate the ability of
a passive RFID Military Shipping Label (MSL)
to automatically record transportation event
transactions and associate them to content
level detail in an In-Transit Visibility
(ITV) data store with minimal human
intervention.
In this session, Mr.
Reboulet describes the finding from the Air
Force tracking pilot. The session will
provide an overview of the amount and type
of metrics that was tracked for depot
maintenance.
