1:15 p.m.	Unique Identification – What, Why & Who? - Mr. David Ahern Professor, Defense Acquisition University - Wide Area Work Flow Authority Defense Contract Management Agency Detailed explanation of the concept of “unique identification.” The mechanics of constructing a “unique identification” mark/code. How UID will be employed within DoD and its supply chain. Use of the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) to transmit UID information. Milestones for implementing unique identification. Question and answer session.

2:15 p.m.	UID Contract Requirements - Government Contracting Officer Defense Contract Management Agency Identification and explanation of current and pending DFARS guidance for UID implementation. Explanation of contractual solicitation/award aspects for UID Determination of the value of UID items for cost and fixed type contracts. Identification of source references for business rules and policy guidance.

3:30 p.m.	Industry Implementation Panel - Selected Defense Industry Representatives Strategies for implementing UID / RFID policy requirements. Implementation challenges (engineering, manufacturing, finance, etc.) and how selected defense industry companies have addressed them. Question and answer session.

4:45 p.m.	UID Vendor Presentations - UID technology and service vendors* will make five-minute presentations of their company services and capabilities. Vendors will be available throughout the afternoon to discuss the current state of technology available in the commercial marketplace.
