Ron Gilbert is the Director of Government technical RFID solutions at Alien Technology Corporation headquartered in Morgan Hill, California. Ron has been the Director of Hardware Engineering for the past three years at Alien and has now transitioned to his new role due to the recent DoD tagging mandates and his fifteen years of working at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Washington state on RFID and other Government projects. With over 24 years of experience as an electrical engineer and 16 years experience with RFID systems, Ron holds several patents and has received an IR&D 100 award, Federal Laboratory Consortium award and the IEEE technology transfer award for his work in the area of RFID systems. Ron Gilbert holds a bachelors and masters degree in electrical engineering from Colorado State University.
